The Khewara
mine is the second largest mine in the world located in Jhelum district,
Punjab Pakistan, about 160 km from Islamabad city. It is a part of Himalayan mountain range. Himalayan salt is one of
the pure salt which is being sold in Europeon, North American and in Australian
countries. The history of the pink salt evolved as the result of natural
evolution. Millions of years back crystallized sea salt beds deep inside Himalayan
mountains, were covered by lava. This proved to be a shield and has protected
this salt from dust and pollution, making Himalayan salt the purest pink salt
form on earth .The pink colour of this salt is the witness of its purity and it
is a proof that the quality of the salt is enriched with minerals and iron. Pink
Himalayan salt is free of impurities
unlike the refined table salt .This pink salt is never treated with heat or
processed in fact it is mined through the manual labour work and efforts of man
power. Due to its natural composition it is rich source of iodine without any
chemical alterations.
